STOCKTON - Freshman right-hander Cori Reinhardt tossed a complete-game two-hit shutout to lead Cal State Monterey Bay to a 2-0 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills in an elimination game of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Softball Tournament at Arnaiz Field in Stockton on Saturday.

The Otters (43-11) are currently in action against Chico State (35-15) in a second elimination game. The loss dropped the Toros to 42-13 on the season.

Reinhardt (21-4) and Cal State Dominguez Hills starter Stephanie Jimenez (22-5) were locked in a scoreless game until the sixth inning when Cal State Monterey Bay pushed across two runs. With two outs in the inning, Nina Villanueva singled to center and scored the game's first run following a double by Jackie Serna. Jamie Moon then doubled home Villanueva with an insurance run.

The winner of Saturday's late game between Chico State and Cal State Monterey Bay will face UC San Diego in Sunday's championship at noon. The Wildcats or Otters will have to win twice on Sunday to claim the CCAA Tournament title and the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
