Givon Crump Named Wilson/CCAA Player of the Week

Givon Crump, here being introduced at the Madness @ Midnight pep rally, picked up his first CCAA Player of the Week award today

WALNUT CREEK -- Junior forward Givon Crump has been named the Wilson/California Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week, it was announced by the CCAA office. This marks Crump's first POW award in his first season in Cardinal and Gold.

The Washington, DC, native was spectacular despite Cal State Dominguez Hills going 1-2 in its first venture in the Disney Tip-Off Classic last weekend.

In the three games, Crump averaged 15.7 points and 8.0 boards per contest, tallying the team's high-point mark in all 3 contests, and the squad's high-rebound mark in 2 games.

After scoring in the teens in the first two games, Crump went off for 21 in the two-point loss to Northern State to close the Classic, finishing with a 43.8% success rate from the floor and 76.5% from the free-throw line.

CSUDH will open its home and conference schedule this Thursday as cross-town rival Cal State L.A. visits the Torodome, with first tip on the "Dave Yanai Court" set for 5 pm. The game will be streamed live on the Toro Sports Network at www.GoToros.com/live.
