Worldwide Broadcasts Set For All Toros Basketball Home Games

Home schedule begins Friday against UC San Diego

CSUDH basketball and the Toro Sports Network kick off the 2011-12 home schedule this Friday against UC San Diego
CARSON -- The Toro Sports Network will broadcast all 24 Cal State Dominguez Hills women's and men's home basketball games worldwide live from the Dave Yanai Court inside the Torodome, beginning this Friday as UC San Diego visits Carson to kick off the home schedule.

The Toro Sports Network is the Internet TV channel featuring Cal State Dominguez Hills athletics. Games in December will have Internet audio streams only with television coverage set to resume in January.

All home games can be found online at www.GoToros.com/Live starting with Toros GameNight about 15 minutes before tipoff.  On doubleheader dates, Toros GameNight will begin 10 minutes before the start of the men's game. After the buzzer, College Basketball Final will wrap up the just concluded contest, name the player of the game, and look ahead to the next broadcast. Anyone with an Internet connection anywhere can watch or listen free of charge with no registration required.

The broadcast schedule starts Friday night with the California Collegiate Athletic Association conference home opener for the women against the 8th-ranked and undefeated Tritons at 5:30, followed by the men's tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

After the women battle Cal State San Bernardino the next day, the Toros and Coyotes men will hook up at 7:30 p.m., a marquee match-up that features the CCAA tournament champions from the past two seasons.

Following non-conference games December 6 and 10, the Toros end the calendar year December 30 with a Friday afternoon matinee as cross-town rival Cal State L.A. makes its 18-mile trek to Carson, with the women's game at 1 p.m. and the men's contest at 3 o'clock.

The first month of 2012 finds the Toros at the Torodome three out of four weekends, including a January 7 rematch with Humboldt State.  The Toros edged the Lumberjacks 51-50 at the buzzer in last year's CCAA tournament championship game on a 3-pointer by Robert Wilhite.

The Toros play at home only twice in February with Senior Night ceremonies slated for February 18 before the games with visiting Chico State.

David Smock is in his fourth year as the coordinating producer and play-by-play announcer for the Toro Sports Network.  A cum laude graduate of Pacific Lutheran University, Smock started his broadcasting career in his hometown of Long Beach.

A national award-winning sportscaster, he begins his fifth season calling Toros basketball games.  Joining the Toro Sports Network on select broadcasts will be Marc Serber along with special guest game analysts.  A graduate of Syracuse University, Serber is a play- by-play announcer for Fox Sports International. The Washington, DC, area native is also the director of media and public relations for the Anaheim Bolts professional indoor soccer team.
