Toros Cannot Keep Up with the CCAA's Best, Fall 67-33

Box Score
SEASIDE -- Against the undefeated and rarely challenged Otters of Cal State Monterey Bay, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros could not maintain the momentum from last night's first victory of the year, falling 67-33. Junior Ashley Hudson had a career-high 16 of the team's 33 points on the night.

From the opening tip, the stronger Otters imposed their will, never allowing the Toros to take a lead or gather any momentum. Freshman Hillarie Perrin-Grant made a jumper with 9:11 left in the first half to bring the score to 17-10 CSUMB. However that would be the last time in the game where the lead was less than double-digits. Hudson led the team with five points in the half.

The second half saw CSUMB pull away despite 11 points for Hudson, all off the bench. Cal State Monterey Bay used a 21-4 run to put the game completely out of reach.

For the game the Toros were stonewalled offensively, shooting just 20.5% from the field while also being out-rebounded 37-19 for the evening.

Now 1-11, 1-7 CCAA, the Toros return to CCAA action against Cal State East Bay in Hayward next Thursday, January 13th at 5:30pm.
