White Tabbed Two-Time All-CCAA Selection En Route to CCAA Freshman of the Year Honors

LA JOLLA -- With the final day of the 2010 CCAA Track & Field Championships now past, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros have claimed numerous All-CCAA selections, none more important than the two bestowed on Monikkia White (pictured), enough to land her the CCAA Freshman of the Year honors, highlighting her breakout year in the Cardinal & Gold.

The first All-CCAA awards of the day came way of a third-team selection in the 4x100-meter relay, with lead-off runner Chanel Parker and teammate White landing their team a third-place finish at 46.74.

Parker, White, Breionna Jackson and Dora Baldwin not only were the first for the Toros this year but also landed the second-fastest finish for CSUDH at the CCAA Championships in the event.

A few hours later Parker grabbed her second All-CCAA nod, finishing at 14.16-seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, good for second-place.

White doubled her fun as well, grabbing second place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.16 for an All-CCAA selection.

Not to be outdone by the 4x100 team, the 4x400-meter relay squad composed of Jackson, Parker, Janette Morfin and Baldwin took home All-CCAA as well, grabbing third-place with a time of 3:49.85, also the second-fastest time for the team in the CCAA Championships.

The Toros will have one more shot at the turf at the Cal State L.A. Last Chance Qualifier this weekend as they look to build upon and improve their laundry list of NCAA provisional marks before heading to the Outdoor Championships.
