Toros Use Perfect Day to Set New Marks at Bryan Clay Invitational


AZUSA -- Finishing in 2nd-place to best all other NCAA Division II competitors in the race at the  Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific University, Monikkia White grabbed her first ever outdoor provisional qualifying time in the 200m dash with a time of 24.45, also a personal best for her as well.

Previously holding a personal mark of 24.82 in the race, White not only bested her own time but the NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 24.70.

Another Toro, Dora Baldwin, grabbed a provisional mark, in the 400m dash she carded 3rd-place, also besting all other D-II runners with a time of 55.72, now the eighth best time on the Toros' all-time top-ten lists.

The field events were not left out of the limelight as Teriana Loftin hurled the shot put 10.12 meters, finishing 21st in the event and placing her distance as the No. 2 finish on the Toros' top-ten lists.

The Toros will next see competition as they take part in the annual Tommy "Tiny" Lister Classic hosted by Cal State L.A. on April 23 and 24.
