Toros Fly Through Rain to Flood 100-Meter Dash at 14th Annual Rossi Relays

CLAREMONT -- Rain may have shortened the day only allowing the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's track & field squad an opportunity in three events, but the team stormed the 100-meter dash placing six of its runners in the top-ten, led by Monikkia White with a time of 12.29s, good for third in the event.

White's time bests last weeks of 12.33 and is placing her closer to an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the event.

Five other Toros placed in the top-ten in the event including Chanel Parker (12.30, 4th), Breionna Jackson (12.50, 5th), Nancy Blake (12.67, 6th), Dora Baldwin (12.69, 7th) and Destiny Tyler (12.71, 8th).

Top honors in the event went to Aareon Payne of Division I USC with a time of 11.85.

The CSUDH squad competed in only two other events on the day with Judith Fisher grabbing 7th in the long jump (4.74m) and Teriana Loftin placing 12th in the shot put (9.90m).

The Toros will compete next week as they travel to a hopefully sunny Fullerton to take place in Cal State Fullerton's Ben Brown Invitational.
