Murphy Continues Multi-Goal Wizardry in 3-0 Win at CS Monterey Bay


SEASIDE, Calif. -- Sophomore #Jessica Murphy# tallied her second-consecutive two-goal effort as Cal State Dominguez Hills took a 3-0 win at Cal State Monterey Bay this morning, helping the Toros move to 4-4, 3-2 CCAA.

Sophomore #Paige Peel# got the Toro on the board first, taking a feed from #Melissa Livergood# and connecting for the game's first goal at the 10:12 mark.

Murphy then continued her offensive assault after a two-goal effort at San Francisco State two day ago, as Peel's feed deep in Otter territory allowed Murphy to go 1v1 against keeper Andrea Davis, who proved no match for the scoring sensation just 11 minutes later.

The Torrance native then finished her day with just under eight minutes left in the game after collecting a pass from Livergood, and again beating Davis for the contest's final tally.

The Toros out-shot the Otter 15-7, including 9-1 in a dominating second half while CSUDH keeper #Alyssa Congdon# made 6 saves on the day, compared to 4 for Davis.

CSUDH continues its CCAA road trip on Wednesday as it looks for payback at Cal State L.A. after the Golden Eagles took a convincing 3-0 win in Carson on September 8.  First kick is set for 7:00 pm in Jesse Owens Track.
