CARSON, Calif. -- Junior Zareh Zargaryan tallied his first double-double as a Toro, but visiting Dixie State raced out to an early first-half lead and cruised to a 72-59 victory over CS Dominguez Hills in the second meeting between the two schools in 21 days.  With the loss, CSUDH falls to 0-6, matching its longest losing streak to start a season since 2004-05.

The visitors got the scoring started with a triple by Adam Ross, and didn't look back, bumping its cushion to 9 at 13-4 just five minutes into the contest, and to 15 at 34-19 with just 3:17 left in the half, before entering the locker room with a comfortable 39-22 edge.

Dixie State, which improved to 5-1, built its lead to 20 with under five minutes elapsed in the second half, where it stayed until the 7:12 mark after John Staats drilled a 3-pointer to cut the lead to 17 at 63-46.

The Red Storm answered with a lay-up to push the lead back to 19, before the two teams began exchanging buckets until 1:29 left in the contest when another Staats jumper, a Jamel Ward lay-up and another trey by Staats after a DSC bucket accounted for the game's final scoring in the 72-59 Red Storm win.

The Toros shot a respectable 46.9% from the floor, but 24 turnovers compared to just 10 for the visitors as well as a 15-6 discrepancy at the free throw line in favor of the Red Storm were the differences tonight.

CSUDH will look to get its first win of the season on Saturday as it travels to face NAIA power Vanguard University, with first tip set for 7:30 pm.
