Toros Suffer Season's First Loss in 3-2 OT Defeat at Cal Poly Pomona

Pomona, CA -- Cal Poly Pomona midfielder Andrea Salerno delivered a 40-foot shot at the 96:56 mark to give Cal Poly Pomona a 3-2 overtime victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills in their California Collegiate Athletic Association women's soccer game Friday night at Kellogg Field.
            The Broncos trailed 1-0 at halftime when the Toros' Melissa Livergood scored on a feed from teammates Ashley Stewart and Cassie McKay at the 44:17 mark.
            But Cal Poly Pomona bounced back on the strength of forward Mary Carroll, who scored twice in the second half—the first at 47:11  from Salerno after which she added the second at 72:26 from forward Lindsey Zuber.
            CS Dominguez Hills' Kelly Matosian tied the game at 2-2 when she scored on a scrum inside the net at 76:35.
            The Toros, who suffered their first loss of the season in falling to 3-1-1, 0-1 CCAA, continue conference road action when they face Cal State San Bernardino on Sunday at 3 pm.
