CHICO - Alexander Oceguera scored the game's lone goal in the 39th minute and Brian Linné made five saves en route to his third straight home shutout as the Chico State men's soccer team beat 15th-ranked Cal State Dominguez Hills 1-0 at University Soccer Stadium Friday.

The Wildcats, who have now won five straight at home, improved to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in the CCAA. Cal State Dominguez Hills dropped to 6-2-0 overall and 2-2-0 in the CCAA.

Oceguera, who would later miss his second goal of the night by inches when he fired one off the crossbar, did not miss on his first attempt. John Doran put the play in motion with a sharp cross that Ivan Velasco flicked on to Oceguera with his heal. Oceguera pounded it home for his first goal of the season.

The Wildcats missed out on a trio of great chances in the second half and then withstood a furious late rally by the Toros to hold on for the victory. Linné did most of his best work in the first half, however, collecting four saves. In the second half, the Wildcats defense bent, but did not break, allowing only one shot on goal.

The Toros continue their northern swing with a Sunday match at Cal State Stanislaus.
