Chino, CA - Cal State Dominguez Hills true freshman Kristin Glen (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA/Trabuco Hills HS) led the Toros this morning in the NCAA West Regional Championship, crossing the 6K finish line in a time of 25:10.80, good for a 74th place finish. In her first year competing intercollegiately, Glen has posted the fastest time in all seven races in which CSUDH has competed.
Junior Valarie Tucker (Downey, CA/El Camino College) posted a time of 26:17 (117th) while fellow junior Monica Marroquin (Los Angeles, CA/LACC) crossed the finish line in 27:23.9 (136th).
Individually, UC San Diego's Miriam Hodges took the regional title in 21:59.8, while Chico State took the team title.
The Toros, which welcomed six newcomers to this year's squad, should have both experience and depth as they look forward to a successful 2006 season.
