Joe Bresson wins his first DH Athletics Athlete of the Week award after leading the Toros to one of the two wins at No. 23 Chico State last weekend.

Bresson was one out away from tossing a complete-game but a single and a walk in the ninth put the potential tying runs on base. He got help from teammate Anthony Cortez, who got the final out to secure the Toros' 4-2 victory as well as Bresson's third win of the season. Bresson surrendered two runs on eight hits and a walk.

A Bakersfield native, Bresson has a team second-best 3.04 ERA in nine starts. He's also thrown 53.1 innings this season.
