Junior Cody Yates held visiting San Francisco State to just two hits over 6.0 shutout innings of work to lead the Toros to a 4-1 win and a series split. Yates allowed two hits to the first three batters he faced, but then settled down to retire 10 of the next 11 batters before issuing a lead-off walk in the fifth.

Yates finished his afternoon by facing 23 total batters, just five over the minimum required for 6.0 innings of work, inducing 10 ground outs and five foul outs in 67 net pitches.
