Lauren Chow returns for her ninth year as the Toros strength and conditioning coach.
In her role, Chow is responsible for designing and implementing of various training programs for student-athletes. She also played a key role in refurbishing the Weight Room in 2016.
Chow came to Carson after serving as a volunteer assistant strength and conditioning coach at UC Irvine, preceded by nearly a year as an intern in the same field for the Los Angeles Clippers organization.
At UCI, Chow was directly responsible for the design and implementation of strength training for the men's and women's cross country, distance and golf programs while assisting with men's soccer, women's volleyball, baseball and women's water polo, collaborating with athletic trainers to develop and implement modified training programs.
With the Clippers, she edited movement assessment videos, assisted players in training sessions, practiced designing corrective exercise workouts and researched exercises that targeted corrective strategies, activation, mobility and/or stability.
Prior to her stint with the Clippers, she served as a strength and conditioning intern with Loyola Marymount after earning both her Bachelor and Master's degrees in Kinesiology from Cal State Fullerton, where she earned four letters on the women's basketball team. She was also named the CSUF Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and team captain as a senior.
