Perhaps the greatest pitcher in Cal State Dominguez Hills softball history, alumna and All-American Stephanie Jimenez returns for her seventh season leading the pitching corps in 2024.

Since the reuniting with her former coach Jim Maier for the 2019 season, Jimenez has transformed the pitching staff into one of the best in the CCAA again. The 2020 campaign saw improvements in then-junior Alyssa Olague and then-sophomore Ashley Wies, despite the COVID-19 pandemic abruptly and disappointedly cancelled the remainder of the season. Olague was selected to the one-time only CCAA All-Star team after finishing first in the conference in saves (4), third in wins (9), fifth in innings pitched (73.1) and sixth in strikeouts (62). Wies, meanwhile, started eight of her 16 appearances and in 61 innings of work she struck out 59 batters, five short from reaching her freshman mark which that year she threw 111 innings.

In Jimenez's first season leading the pitching corps in 2018, the Toros boasted 160 total strikeouts. Then-senior Alyssa Valinches struck out season-best 129 batters, good for third in the CCAA.

The 2012-13 CSUDH Female Athlete of the Year, Jimenez played her entire collegiate career in a Toro uniform from 2010-13. Jimenez holds nearly every career pitching record in the program. She boasted 84 wins, 17 saves, 662 strikeouts and 23 shutouts on 802.2 innings pitched. She also holds the single-season record of 232 strikeouts set her senior season which included a no-hitter. She was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America third team and Daktronics All-America honorable mention during her senior season. In her career, Jimenez was a two-time All-West Region and All-CCAA honoree.

Jimenez proudly has a daughter, Sophie, and a son, Liam.
