Cal State Dominguez Hills is thrilled to welcome Ryan Pitts as the new Assistant Track and Field Coach. Pitts joins the Toros after a decade at Baker University as the Track and Field/Cross Country Head Coach turned Director, where he lead the Wildcats program to success. Under his leadership, Baker achieved two conference championships on the men’s side, produced 42 individual conference champions, 25 All-Americans, one national champion, and set 27 school records.
Named Director of Cross Country/Track and Field in 2022 following seven successful years as head coach, Pitts made an immediate impact by guiding the men’s team to a sweep of the indoor and outdoor conference titles in his first season. He was named USTFCCCA Men’s Outdoor Track and Field South Central Regional Coach of the Year in 2016 and earned Heart Coach of the Year honors that same season.
In 2019, Pitts celebrated his first national champion with Moses Watson’s victory in the men’s 3,000-meter racewalk at the NAIA Indoor Championships. A two-sport athlete during his time at Baker, Pitts was an All-American wide receiver in football and a three-time national qualifier in track and field.
