Julian Navarro, entering his 19th season at Cal State Dominguez Hills, was promoted to his current role of head athletic trainer in the 2019 fall semester after spending the first five years on campus as an assistant athletic trainer.Â

Navarro joined the Toros after spending nearly two years as the athletic trainer at the Disneyland Resort. At Disneyland, Navarro was responsible for entertainment and operational cast members for both parks and screened all new hires utilizing a multitude of movement screens in order to detect and address any bio-mechanical deficits or potential pre-disposure risk for injury. He also developed and implemented injury prevention programs to reduce injury rates, provide first aid and first responder duties and served as the point of contact for the costuming department and parades.
Â
Earning his Master's degree in Athletic Training from Cal Baptist and his Bachelor's in Sociology and Spanish with a minor in Kinesiology from Occidental College, Navarro also served as a per diem Athletic Trainer for Cerritos College and UC Riverside since summer 2013.
