Ciarra Ford joins the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's basketball program as an assistant coach in her first year for the 2018-19 season. She joins the Toros from the high school and club basketball coaching circuits as she started her coaching career at Lakewood High School in 2014 before moving on to Centennial High School in Corona for two years, where she helped the team to an overall record of 43-15 and finished first in the Big VIII League two seasons in a row.
Ford was born and raised in Long Beach and is an alumnus of Cal State Bakersfield, where she was a point guard for the women's basketball program, and obtained her bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a minor in psychology. She recorded 100 assists in the 2011-12 season, which ranks seventh in single-season assists in the Roadrunners' record book.
In club basketball, Ford coached on the girl's Nike EYBL circuit for elite programs such as West Coast Premier and Valley Starz Elite. In addition to coaching, she also founded a co-ed basketball program based out of Redondo Beach named Swish.
