Biography

2012: Emerged as one of the best pitchers in the region, earning 1st-team Daktronics All-Region and 2nd-team NFCA All-Region honors after leading the league in saves, finishing 2nd in strikeouts and opposing batting average, and 3rd in wins, innings pitched, appearances, shutouts and complete games ... Set CSUDH record for strikeouts and shutouts in a single season, and wins and strikeouts in a career with her senior season on the horizon ... At the plate, collected 11 multi-hit and 4 multi-RBI efforts en route to posting the 3rd-best BA on the team.

2011: Named a 2nd-team All-CCAA selection after posting a 14-10 record with 127 strikeouts ... Led CCAA in saves for second consecutive year ... Boasted at least 4 Ks in 15 games, including season-high  9 at CSUMB (March 4) ... Posted strikeout-to-walk ratio of 2.9:1 ... Also serves as a writer for "The Bulletin," CSUDH's school newspaper.

2010: Led the CCAA in saves as a true freshman, and finished 3rd in innings pitched and Ks looking, 4th in wins and 7th in strikeouts ... Six saves was 4th best in the NCAA ... Also led the team with 18 wins and 127 strikeouts, boasting a team-best 2.01 strikeout-to-walk ratio ... Tallied 15 games with at least 4 Ks, including season-best 11 strikeouts vs Sonoma State (Feb 19) ... Notched first career save vs Humboldt State (Feb 13), the first of six on the year.

Norwalk HS: Earned four varsity letters .. Led Lancers to league title as a senior ... Also a scholar athlete.

Personal: Born on April 12, 1991, in Norwalk ... Daughter of Neptali and Lidia ... Has two siblings, Adrian and Elizabeth, with Liz joining her sister on the Toros this year ... Chose the Carson campus for its proximity to home ... Also recruited by Odessa College ... Greatest athletic thrill to date was helping Norwalk HS win league ...
