Sean Lockhart

Cal State Dominguez Hills alumnus Sean Lockhart was named the interim men's soccer head coach in March of this year, and will lead the Toros during the 2018 campaign. It is Lockhart's second stint on the CSUDH sidelines after serving as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's programs from 2002-07, where he was responsible for recruiting, budgets, scouting and scheduling.

Along with his duties at CSUDH, he serves as the youth coaching director and age group coach for Fram Soccer Club, a position he has been in since 2011.

Most recently, he served as the program director and varsity head coach for the Palos Verdes High School girl's soccer team from 2007-18, leading PVHS to five Bay League titles and the CIF Southern Section Division II crown in 2016. Lockhart has been named Daily Breeze Coach of the Year thrice, Bay League Coach of the Year five times and was the CIF Division II Coach of the Year in 2016.

As a player, Lockhart helped lead the Toros to the 2000 NCAA National Championship after registering the assist on the game-winning goal in CSUDH's thrilling 2-1 four-overtime win against Barry University. One year later, he was named to the 2001 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division II All-America Team after leading the Toros to the NCAA Championship title game. During the season, Lockhart led CSUDH with 45 points on 16 goals, including six game-winners, and 13 assists, while picking up 2001 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Year and NSCAA All-West Region First Team honors to go along with his All-America status.

Lockhart’s name is splattered all over the Toros all-time record book.  During his playing days, he broke a 12-year mark with 28 career assists that since has been surpassed by former All-American Victor Guerrero, and currently holds the second and fourth spots for single season assists with 15 ('00) and 13 ('01).  He ranks third with 45 points in a season, is eighth with 74 career points and shares the ninth spot with 23 career goals.

Lockhart played two years at Sacramento State before transferring to CSUDH, where he led the Hornets in scoring his freshman season. As a prep, Lockhart was a two-time Desert Valley League MVP at Palm Springs HS, registering 104 career goals over a four-year span. He was also named to the All-CIF First Team in 1996.

In 2002, Lockhart played professionally in Malaysia, where he led the Brunei Premier League in goals and assists as his DPMM FC team, owned by the Sultan of Brunei, won the league championship.

Lockhart graduated from CSUDH in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in physical education. He is married to CSUDH compliance officer Natalie Lockhart. The couple have three daughters.
