Rea (pronounced “RAY”) begins his second year on the Toro sidelines after enjoying a three-year career at former CCAA-rival Cal State Bakersfield.
As a ‘Runner, Rea was named a 1st-team NSCAA/adidas All-American as a senior, a 2nd-team All-American as a junior, and both a three-time 1st-team All-Far West Region and 1st-team All-CCAA honoree. Making 61 starts in 63 games played, Rea concluded his three-year career with 16 goals and seven assists (39 points) despite playing almost exclusively from the back line.
Professionally, Rea enjoyed stints for Glentoran FC (Belfast) Northern Ireland, and Sligo Rovers (the south of Ireland).
“Drew brings knowledge of the CCAA and is guy who wants to coach,” says Flanagan. “He's going to bring some energy and some new ideas. I recruited Drew, and I like what he brings to the table.”
Born on March 19, Rea lives in El Segundo, California and is single.
