Renowned and respected goalkeepers coach Daniel Gonzalez begins his fourth season with the Toros men's soccer programs after over 20 years of professional coaching experience, including the past three with Chivas USA.
Under Chivas, Gonzalez was charged with training, mentoring and progress assessment for the first team of keepers, including match analysis.
Players under his tutelage included Dan Kennedy, who was voted the best defender and MVP (2012), one of the best 5 keepers in the league and the best defender for Chivas USA (2011), and the comeback player of the year (2010).
Prior, he served as the keepers coach for the MLS' Colorado Rapids from 2000-03, with stints as the Boys Director of Coaching for the Southern California Rush Soccer Club and the Director of Coaching for the MYSC Soccer Club between professional coaching tenures.
As a player, Gonzalez enjoyed a 20-year professional career with the Memphis jackals (USISL), Memphis Rogues (SISL), Canton Invaders (AISA), Memphis Storm (AISA) and Ft. Lauderdale Strikers after seven years with various Argentina National teams.
