    Assistant Coach
Tim Alcantar returns to the Toros for his third year as an assistant coach, and will be charged with the outfielders, as well as working with the hitters throwing batting practice in 2016.

Alcantar's career of coaching spans over 40 years in the Los Angeles Area. He has been an assistant coach at Pepperdine University, Head Baseball Coach at Venice High where his team won the City Championship in 2001, and has been an assistant coach for the Chicago White Sox Scout Team. He has thrown batting practice for in-season college teams and for local professional baseball players during their off-season, while coaching with the RBI (Reviving Baseball in the Inner City) Program as well as coaching alongside former head coach of the Toros, George Wing, for the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Program.

Alcantar was an All-Conference as an outfielder for Pepperdine University in the 1970s, and set records for hitting and RBIs while playing in the Canadian Baseball League.

While earning his Masters in Physical Education at Pepperdine, he met his wife Heather, a former Pepperdine University volleyball player.  They have two sons, both of whom Alcantar coached at Venice High.

His son, Jordan, was a catcher for the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos and is currently the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Loyola Marymount University. His younger son, Eric, played a year of college ball at Biola University and completed his degree at California State University, Chico. He is currently a Project Manager for a local construction company.

Alcantar resides in Culver City, enjoys golfing and can be seen arriving on campus on his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
