Marcellius Brewster joined the Cal State Dominguez Hills baseball team on March 21, 2017 after signing his National Letter of Intent.
Brewster was paired with the Toros baseball team through Team IMPACT, a non-profit organization that helps "improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses through the power of team."
A Los Angeles native, Marcellius has been diagnosed with Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, asthma, and acid reflux, and has undergone surgery to install a pacemaker. Due to his seizures, Marcellius must be monitored by his family and/or nurses constantly. But despite frequent check-ins with the neurologist and cardiologist as routine, Marcellius lives his life to its fullest, with the attitude and energy befitting an active 7-year-old with a zeal for life.
The newest member of the baseball team, Marcellius' favorite foods are cheese pizza, grilled chicken, broccoli, corn, rice, enchiladas, and tacos. He enjoys watching Pup Patrol, Ninja Turtles, Spiderman, Sonic, and Trolls, and if he's not dancing to Katy Perry or anything else on iHeart Radio, you can find him drawing, reading, painting, solving puzzles, and playing board games. He also loves to play baseball, basketball, and soccer, cruise on his bike and scooter, and help with chores around the house.
