Jerit Coleman

A former Toro from 2006-07, Coleman was one of the most versatile players on the roster, seeing action as a second baseman, shortstop, designated hitter, pinch hitter and pinch runner.

Starting 46 games as a senior, Coleman posted a .322 average in 152 at bats with 49 hits, 11 doubles, one home run and 25 RBI. The previous season in his 23 games of action, Coleman hit .256 with four RBI.

This spring, Coleman will be attending spring training with the Victoria Seals through the JBL, an independent professional league (Canada).

As a prep, Coleman competed at Long Beach Poly High School where he Awarded 1st-Team All-Moore League in 2002 & 2003, the team MVP in 2003 and the 2003 Century Club Achievement in Athletics Award.

A native of California born and raised in Long Beach, Coleman is on pace to earn his kinesiology degree from CSUDH in spring 2009, and currently resides in Long Beach.
