The all-time winningest head coach in Cal State Dominguez Hills history with 447 wins in 18 years as Cal State Dominguez Hills baseball head coach from 1989-2006, George Wing begins his second tenure in 2015, serving in an interim capacity.
Wing, who claimed two California Collegiate Athletic Association Coach of the Year honors, led the Toros to the top seed in the CCAA Tournament in 2006, and has coached five All-Americans, 22 All-Regions, 96 All-CCAAs, three CCAA Players of the Year, two CCAA Pitchers of the Year and one CCAA Freshman of the Year.
Wing was honored in 2001 by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) for 25 years of service to the sport of baseball before being honored at the Coaches of Influence (COIN) Banquet at the Crystal Cathedral a year later for being a positive role model for the kids he coaches.
Then just two years later, Wing faced the biggest challenge he has seen either on or off the baseball field after being diagnosed with cancer just a handful of games into the 2004 campaign, having to give up the reigns after 14 games. However, showing the determination and willingness to fight that has embodied Toros baseball since he took the helm in 1989, Wing successfully beat cancer and made his return to the dugout in 2005, and enjoyed one of the best seasons in Toros history a year later.
Wing amassed four 30+ win seasons, including a career-best 38-19 mark in 1994. Additionally, he has guided three teams to 20-win seasons in the highly-competitive CCAA Conference, with the 1994 squad tallying a 19-11 mark in league play en route to the CCAA Championship.

He then earned his Master's in Physical Education from Chico State in 1983 before beginning his head coaching career at Napa Valley JC (1985-1987) and Cosumnes River JC (1987-88).
