Donnie Wilson

Wilson begins his third season as an assistant coach after a five-year stint at College of the Sequoias, where the Giants made the state playoffs in 2011 and 2012 and saw over 40 players transfer to Division 1 and 2 programs.  Also, Wilson spends summers in North Carolina as head coach of the Asheboro Copperheads, returning for his 6th season in the summer of 2014 after earning the #1 seed for the postseason after earning the first-half and second-half West Division Championships.

In fact, Perfect Game Baseball had the Copperheads ranked as high as No. 10 in the nation during the Collegiate Summer baseball rankings.

Additionally, Wilson served as the head coach of the West Division for the Coastal Plain League All-Star game.

At Western Carolina University, Wilson led the Catamounts to the 2007 Southern Conference Championship, earning a spot in the NCAA D1 Tournament.  Prior, Wilson was named all-league in 2004 and 2005 at College of the Sequoias.

Wilson earned his BA in History from WCU in 2007, and his MS in Physical Education/Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Central Missouri online program in 2009.

He is engaged to Megan Veloz, with their wedding planned for fall of this year.
