CARSON, Calif. – Cal State Dominguez Hills battled to a scoreless draw against cross-town rival Cal State Los Angeles on Saturday night at Toro Stadium in a defensive showcase.
The Toros controlled much of the attack, outshooting the Golden Eagles 14-8 overall and earning an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks. CSUDH placed five shots on goal but could not break through against the Cal State LA goalkeeper.
Aldair Marta led the way with four shots, including three on frame. Jason Guzman added two shots with one on goal, while Jose Peredia also tested the keeper with one shot on target. Defensively, Sergio Valenzuela and David Politron anchored the backline to hold the Eagles without a corner kick attempt.
Goalkeeper Keegan O'Brien played all 90 minutes and finished with two saves to record his third shutout of the season.
