TURLOCK, Calif. – Cal State Dominguez Hills showed resilience but fall in its CCAA opener 3-1 to Stanislaus State on Thursday evening inside Fitzpatrick Arena.
The Toros battled to extend the match after a close second-set win, but the Warriors claimed the contest with set scores of 25-19, 25-27, 25-19 and 25-18.
Ava Hurry powered the Toros with 19 kills, 13 digs and two service aces for a double-double. Jade Fuentes followed with 12 kills and six digs, while Camryn Perdue added seven kills on a .313 hitting percentage along with four block assists. Bailey Fuches chipped in five kills, five digs and an ace.
Setter Jaiden Mojica guided the offense with 29 assists, six digs and four service aces, while Giovannina De Sisto contributed 10 assists, four digs and an ace. Defensively, libero Nina Robles collected a team-high 16 digs.
As a team, CSUDH tallied 50 kills, 49 assists, 67 digs and nine service aces.
