SAN DIEGO – Cal State Dominguez Hills struck twice in the first half and held off a late push to earn a 2-1 road victory over Point Loma on Thursday afternoon at the PLNU Soccer Field.
The Toros opened the scoring in the 25th minute when David Politron finished a feed from Jose Peredia into the bottom right corner. Just over 10 minutes later, Cameron Belandres doubled the lead by firing home a rebound after Peredia's initial shot was saved.
Point Loma pulled one back in the 66th minute, but goalkeeper Keegan O'Brien and the Toros defense kept the Sea Lions from equalizing. O'Brien made three saves in the match, including two in the second half.
CSUDH recorded five shots, placing four on target, while also converting two of its two corner kicks into scoring chances.

CSUDH (3-1-1) remains on the road Saturday, Sept. 20, for a non-conference matchup at Biola. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in La Mirada, Calif.
