ARCATA, Calif. – Cal State Dominguez Hills secured a strong road victory Sunday morning, defeating Cal Poly Humboldt 2-0 at College Creek Field to stay unbeaten in CCAA play.
The Toros struck early when David Politron found the back of the net in the sixth minute to give CSUDH the lead. In the second half, Davien Karanikolas doubled the advantage in the 66th minute off an assist from Alpha Sowe.
Defensively, the Toros limited the Lumberjacks to just two shots on goal across 90 minutes. Goalkeeper Tiago Menezes earned the clean sheet with two saves.
Overall, Dominguez Hills tallied 11 shots, including two on target, and finished with a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
