HAYWARD, Calif. – In a dynamic matchup that saw multiple lead changes, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros rallied to secure a 7-5 victory over the Cal State East Bay Pioneers. The game featured a spirited comeback fueled by timely hitting and solid pitching, exemplifying the resilience of the Toros.
The game opened with the Pioneers taking an early lead thanks to a solo home run by and an RBI single, putting the Toros down 2-0. However, the Toros responded emphatically in the second inning.
CJ Masciel's single, combined with a critical outfield error, allowed
Emilio Barrera and
Grant Decatrel to score, evening the game.
Jeffrey Ray then gave the Toros the lead with an RBI single.
The seesaw battle continued into the third inning when the Pioneers reclaimed the lead with another solo homer and a sacrifice fly, making it 4-3. The Toros fought back in the fourth with
Alex Sepulveda earning an RBI walk to level the score again.
