CARSON, Calif. – Cal State Dominguez Hills fell to Stanislaus State in straight sets (23-25, 18-25, 24-26) on Saturday afternoon in a competitive CCAA matchup at the Torodome. The Toros are now 6-10 overall and 3-5 in CCAA competition while the Warriors move to 12-4 overall and 5-3 in CCAA play.
The Toros were led by senior
Ava Hurry, who recorded 17 kills on 40 attempts, hitting .175, and contributed 2 digs. Junior
Kayly Pau added 9 kills and 3 blocks, hitting an efficient .286 to keep the Toros in contention.
Despite a strong opening set from the Toros, where they rallied late before dropping a narrow 25-23 decision, Dominguez Hills struggled to maintain momentum in the second set, managing a .086 hitting percentage. Setter
Bailey Fuches kept the offense moving, totaling 34 assists and contributing a service ace and 2 digs.
In the third set, the Toros pushed Stanislaus State to the limit with 11 ties and 4 lead changes. Cal State Dominguez Hills led 24-23 but was unable to close out, ultimately falling 26-24. Defensively,
