CARSON — In their 79-56 loss to Cal Poly Pomona, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros saw a few players emerge as key contributors despite the tough game.
Hosanna Walker and
Cristina Oliva led the team in scoring, each contributing 12 points. Walker, in 34 minutes, shot 4-11 from the field and 2-6 from three-point range, also making 2 of 4 free throws. Additionally, she contributed five rebounds and three assists. Oliva, playing for 30 minutes, shot 3-12 overall and 1-7 from beyond the arc, and shot 5 of 8 attempts at the free-throw line. She also collected five rebounds and had two steals.
Asia Jordan was a standout on the boards, pulling down a remarkable 17, including 10 offensive boards. She also scored 10 points, shooting 4-11 from the field and a perfect 2-2 from the free-throw line. Jordan's presence was also felt in playmaking as she collected three assists and on defense collected two blocks.
Amaya Snowden added seven points in 27 minutes. She shot 2-7 from the field, including 1-4 from the three-point line, and was perfect from the free-throw line. Snowden also contributed five rebounds on the game.
The Toros next match is Thursday, January 11
th as they take on San Francisco State on the road with tip-off set for 5:30pm.
