CARSON — The resilience and fighting spirit of the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros were on full display in a gripping encounter against the Cal State LA Golden Eagles, though the team unfortunately experienced a 1-0 defeat.
 
Both squads were highly disciplined and focused during the first half, with neither willing to budge, and the scoreboard remained unmoved. This strategic impasse set the scene for a highly charged second half as each side sought to break the stalemate and secure victory.
 
It was at the 56th minute when CSULA broke the deadlock by scoring from the penalty spot, providing the crucial lead. Despite the relentless efforts and impressive display of tenacity by the Toros, the match concluded with the Golden Eagles maintaining their slender lead.
 
Among the Toros, Cynthia Ramirez showcased admirable determination and skill, taking four shots, three of which were on target, and played the entire duration of the match. Abigail Escalante, the goalkeeper, also displayed commendable poise and concentration as she collected a career high eight saves on the game.
 
Anahi Corrales and Angelica Taylor also contributed significantly to the defensive structure, playing the full match and supporting the team's efforts to contain the opposition.
