CARSON -- The Cal State Dominguez Hills baseball team salvaged the fourth and final game of the CCAA series hosting Stanislaus State as
Miguel Marin and
Aaron Greenfield (pictured) both collected three hits in the 12-4 win.
This came after the Warriors took home the suspended game from yesterday with a run in the top of the 10th to guarantee themselves a series win.
In the finale, the Toros exploded for six runs in the 2nd, the big blow coming on an
Anthony Accordino 2RBI triple to the right-center field gap.
CSUDH added a run in the 4th and five in the 5th, with Marin providing a 2RBI single for a pair of unearned runs.
Leading 12-0, the Warriors finally got on the board in the 8th with four runs, but it was too little, too late in the 12-4 decision.
Accordino finished with 3RBI while
Vincent Temesvary scored thrice in the win.
In the suspended game, the Warriors scored twice in the 1st before the Toros answered with two in their 2nd, courtesy of an Accordino 2RBI big fly.
Temesary gave the Toros a 3-2 lead with a solo shot an inning later, only to have the Warriors tie the game in the 5th.
That's where the score stood yesterday, and when the game resumed in the 10th this morning, Stan State scored in the 10th and held off the Toros in their 10th-inning at-bat for the win.
CSUDH travels to San Francisco State next weekend for a four-game series, beginning Friday at 3 pm.
