Jordan Scores 15 and Walker Scores 10 As Toros Fall To Vikings, 47-70

BELLINGHAM, Wash.– The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros faced the Western Washington Vikings in the first day of the West Region Crossover, ultimately falling 47-70.
 
The Toros had a slow start, scoring only six points in the first quarter compared to Viking's 24. The Toros, however, showed resilience in the second quarter, outscoring their opponents 13-4 and demonstrating their potential for a comeback.
 
Despite this second-quarter surge, the Toros struggled to maintain the momentum after halftime. Western Washington regained their form in the third quarter by adding 20 points to the Toros' 14. The final quarter saw a similar pattern, closing the game with a Toros loss, 47-70.
 
Asia Jordan, led the Toros both in scoring and rebounding. She scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds, with an impressive 5-6 performance at the free-throw line.
 
Hosanna Walker was another significant player for the Toros as she scored 10 points and led the team with seven defensive rebounds. Walker's went a perfect 6-6 shooting from the free-throw line.
 
Kylee Edgar contributed with four points and five rebounds. Malia Goldsmith added five points and dished out a team-high four assists. Goldsmith also contributed on the defensive end with a steal and a block, showcasing her all-around skills.
 
Rebecca Penner scored five points, including a three-pointer, as she also picked up defensive rebound.
 
The Toros continue the West Region Crossover hosted by Western Washington, tomorrow November 11th as they take on Seattle Pacific at 4:30pm.
