CARSON -- Visiting and No. 17 Cal State Monterey Bay fired on all cylinders this morning in the series finale, and the result was a convincing 11-1 win over host Cal State Dominguez Hills on a sunny and windy Sunday morning.
Despite the Toros connecting for nine hits, they scored just once, while committing four errors on the field.
With the loss, CSUDH drops its first series of the season and slips to 4th place in the CCAA standings, with 12 games left in the regular season.
Eric Smelko was the lone Toro with two hits while
Kevin Moscoso and
Grant Decatrel accounted for the two extra-base knocks for the hosts.
The Toros take the road next weekend for a four-game set at Cal State East Bay.
