Jordan Double-Doubles to Help Keep Toros Rolling

CARSON – It was a cold day in the shooting column for both Cal State Dominguez Hills and Sonoma State's women's basketball teams, but it was the Toros who got the first bucket and led from start to finish to post a 57-46 win over the Seawolves at the Torodome Saturday.
 
The 2022-23 version of the Toros keep diving deeper into the record book. At 6-0, they have tied 1995-96 team for the best start since. Dominguez Hills is also 2-0 in CCAA play.
 
Sonoma falls to 2-6 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
 
Both sides couldn't quite get the shooting percentile overall. The Toros ended the day hitting 26.2 percent of their shots while the Seawolves barely reached 30 percent.
 
The best performance for the Toros came in the fourth quarter, when they went 4-for-10 from the field.
 
Asia Jordan ended the day with a double-double, scoring 13 points while reaching for 14 rebounds. The sophomore forward also had four steals and two blocks.
 
Nala Williams had a 10-point day.
 
Dominguez Hills had led by as many as 14 points, when it was 42-28 early into the fourth quarter. Sonoma got as close as seven points with under a minute remaining.
 
The Seawolves were led by Jayme Blackard, who scored 17 points.
 
The Toros will make a brief road trip across LA county to visit Cal Poly Pomona Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
