Second-Half Surge Brings No. 25 Toro Win Streak to Three After 3-1 Win Over Humboldt State

CARSON -- Three was the operative number this afternoon as the No. 25 Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer team brought its win streak to three after a 3-1 win over visiting Humboldt State, with three different Toros getting into the scoring column.

The win moves CSUDH to 5-1-1 overall, keeping them undefeated in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play at a perfect 3-0.

After the visitors began the scoring with just five minutes elapsed in the game, it was all CSUDH after that.

Brandon Lee evened the scoring in the 40th minute after collecting a volley out of midair from David Aguilar, shuttling it past HSU keeper Adrian Gallardo.

That's where the score remained until CSUDH took the lead for good after intermission.

In the 70th minute, Alberto Carrillo scored the eventual game-winner as he collected a loose ball at the mouth of the goal after a scramble began when Sulaiman Bah's shot was deflected by Bryan Rodriguez and HSU's keeper, setting up the empty netter.

Bah, coming off his first CCAA Player of the Week nod, capped the scoring in the 82nd minute after taking a feed from Lee and sending his rocket to the right of a helpless Aguilar, ending the scoring surge.

The Toros took 21 shots to the Jacks' 12, with nine on frame compared to five for the visitors.

Dominguez Hills continues its homestand on Sunday, hosting Chico State at 2 pm.
