CARSON - Cal State Dominguez Hills came back from a 19-point deficit midway through the third quarter and get to within five, but ultimately fell to Stanislaus State by a final score of 80-74 in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) women's basketball matchup, Saturday Torodome.

Ariana Harper was the leading point scorer for the Toros (8-10, 5-7 CCAA) with 20 points. She also had three rebounds, three assists and two steals. Senior
Ahlisha Henderson pitched in 19 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks. The Warriors (8-9, 6-6 CCAA) had six players in double figures, led by Caitlint Keding's 14 points.

CSUDH fell behind early and trailed 25-13 at the end of the opening quarter. Stanislaus State grabbed its largest lead of the first half, 28-13, with the opening basket of the second period, before the Toros went on a 15-6 run to make it a six-point game, 34-28. The Warriors pulled away just before halftime to lead by 11 points, 46-35.

Stanislaus State earned its biggest advantage of the game by 19 points, 60-41, with less than five minutes remaining in the third. CSUDH responded with a 16-2 run to cut the margin to five points, 62-57, with 7:30 remaining in the game. The Toros would get within five points three more times, but couldn't get any closer and ultimately fell by six.

CSUDH will go on the road to take on Chico State for its next matchup on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 5:30 p.m.
