Monmouth, Ore. - Despite a two-goal effort from junior
Holly Kaemerle, the Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer team fell to Western Oregon in overtime, 3-2, Saturday at WOU Soccer Field.
The Toros fall to 1-3-1 overall. The Wolves improve to 3-2-1.
Both teams combined for six shots in the first 45 minutes, but none that were threatening, as the score was 0-0 at halftime.
WOU took the lead six minutes into the second half, in the 51st minute. CSUDH made it an even match in the 76th minute with a 30-yard right-footed bomb from Kaemerle.
The Wolves grabbed the advantage back in the 82nd minute on a corner kick inswinger. The Toros caught up once more as a free kick from junior
Sofia Litendahl found Kaemerle's head and into the net for her second goal of the day.
With the score at 2-2, the game progressed to overtime. WOU was able to get the golden goal three minutes in.
For its next matchup, CSUDH will host Chico State inside the Dignity Health Sports Park Main Stadium on Friday, Sept. 27 at 4:30 p.m.
