CARSON - The Cal State Dominguez Hills softball team ended its 2019 campaign with a doubleheader split to Cal State San Marcos in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchup, Saturday at Toro Diamond. CSUDH won the first game 5-4. The Toros were one win away from qualifying to the CCAA Tournament, but fell in the series finale 2-0.

The Toros finish the season at 27-19 overall and 21-17 in conference play. It is the first winning record for the CSUDH softball program since the 2013 season.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- The Cougars scored first in the top of the fourth with one run. CSUDH responded with five runs in the bottom of the frame.
- Junior
Jade Loe reached on a wild pitch after she struck out and Sandoval homered to take the lead. Reveles hit a single and was pinch ran for by junior
Chenoa Au. A sacrifice bunt from freshman
Kelly Monroy got Au to second. Junior
Jessica Lane reached on a fielder's choice and Simon was walked to load the bases. Sophomore
Kelcy Telles hit a single to get Au home. Lane and Simon were plated on a CSUSM error.
- CSUSM responded with three runs over the final two innings as CSUDH was able to escape with a one-run win.
