MCKINLEYVILLE - Cal State Dominguez Hills took both ends of a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) softball doubleheader against Humboldt State by scores of 4-1 and 15-3 in six innings, respectively, Saturday at McKinleyville High School. Combined with Friday's results, the Toros sweep the Lumberjacks in the four-game series. It is the first series sweep since 2015. CSUDH improves to 14-7 overall and 12-6 in conference play. HSU drops to 4-13 overall and 2-12 in the CCAA.

- CSUDH got some insurance in the fifth with two runs, batted in from Sandoval once again. Senior
Damari Simon drew a walk and advanced to second on a single form Canizales. Senior
Jazmin Guzman laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance both runners and Sandoval cleared the bases with a hit down the left field line.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- CSUDH scored in the first inning once again with two runs. Canizales had an RBI double and Sandoval hit into a double play, but was able to score Canizales.
- The Lumberjacks got one run back in the second to cut the deficit to 2-1. The Toros started to pull away with two more runs in the fourth. Loe hit a single, Wenger drew a walk and both runners advanced on a sacrifice bunt from junior
Lyzette Reveles. Simon hit a blast to the outfield that brought in Wenger and Loe.
- CSUDH piled on four runs in the fifth and seven in the sixth to take a commanding 15-1 lead. The Lumberjacks got two in the bottom of the sixth, but it wasn't enough to end the game.
- The Toros tied the school record for doubles in a game with six.

The Toros will host No. 6 Chico State Friday and Saturday, March 15-16. Friday's doubleheader will start at 1 p.m., Saturday at 11 a.m.
