TURLOCK - Cal State Dominguez Hills scored six runs on the day, but ultimately fell in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) softball doubleheader to Stanislaus State, Saturday at Warrior Softball Field. The Toros fell in game one, 7-3, and in the series finale, 4-3. Combined with Friday's results, the Warriors sweep the four-game series over CSUDH.
The Toros are now 15-33 overall and 11-25 in conference play. Stanislaus State improves to 30-18 overall and 21-13 in the CCAA.
CSUDH will conclude its season with a four-game series as hosts to UC San Diego, Friday and Saturday, April 27-28. Action on Friday will start at 1 p.m. and on Saturday at noon. Senior Day festivities will be held prior to the doubleheader on Saturday.
Game One - STAN 7, CSUDH 3
The Toros allowed three runs in the fourth and sixth and fell in the first game, 7-3. Freshman outfielder

Stanislaus State took a 1-0 advantage in the bottom of the third with a home run. CSUDH responded immediately in the top of the fourth with a score of their own. Sandoval singled to get on base and was sent all the way home on Corella's double to right center. The Warriors took the lead right back in the bottom of the inning with three runs.
The Toros scored two in the top of the sixth to make it a one-run contest. Telles reached on a base hit, stole second and scored as Corella's at bat induced a Stanislaus State error. Corella reached second thanks to a drawn walk from sophomore infielder
Kendelle Messersmith and came home on Lock's pinch-hit single to the outfield. The Warriors got three insurance runs in the bottom of the frame to account for the final score.
Game Two - STAN 4, CSUDH 3
The Toros could not hold on to a three-run lead and dropped a 4-3 decision. Sandoval had two hits and one run, and junior infielder
Damari Simon compiled one hit and two RBI.
CSUDH jumped on the Warriors with three runs in the first. Telles and Sandoval got base hits and Corella induced a Stanislaus State error to load the bases. Messersmith drew a walk for the first score and Simon came through with a two-run base knock to score Telles and Sandoval.
The Warriors answered with two runs in the bottom of the first to close the margin to one. Stanislaus State took the lead with two in the fourth for a 4-3 lead. The Toros were limited to just one hit after the first frame and had no response.
