James, Kish Get Two Hits in Toros Game 2 Loss

LOS ANGELES – The Cal State Dominguez Hills baseball team continues searching for that offensive spark as streaky Cal State LA claimed the second game of the CCAA series, 6-1, at Reeder Field Friday evening.

CSUDH was held to two doubles and five singles throughout the day. Jordan James and Stephen Kish each had two hits.

Nick Suniga made it through five innings but allowed four earned runs along the way. He also struck out five.

The Golden Eagles bumped their win streak to six games, tackled in 10 hits total. Starter Joey Deceglie threw six innings allowing just the lone run in the first inning.

The Toros used small ball to get the first run of the game across. Kai Gomez started out with a single to center field, moved over to second on a Jordan James walk, took third on Esteban Ortega's fly out and scored on Stephen Kish's base hit to right field.

CSULA answered in the first inning with a run of their own and took the lead in the fourth. They would go on to add three more in the fifth and one more in the eighth.

The two teams move the series to Toro Field for a doubleheader Saturday at noon.
