CARSON - Down two, sophomore midfielder
George Almeida scored three goals in the span of 7:20 to give Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer the edge over Cal State East Bay by a final score of 3-2 in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchup, Saturday at Toro Stadium. CSUDH improves to 4-8-2 overall and 4-4 in conference play. The Pioneers drop to 3-7-1 overall and 1-4-1 in the CCAA.

WHAT HAPPENED?
- CSUEB scored its first goal in the ninth minute from Jonathan Ayala to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Pioneers increased their lead in the 62nd minute from Ayala once again.
- In the 75th minute,
George Almeida found the left side of the net on a cross from
Stefan Skrinjaric to cut the margin to one.
- Less than two minutes later, Almeida took a free kick from just outside the top of the box. Almeida's shot curled past the CSUEB wall and into the left side of the goal for the equalizer.
- In the 83rd minute,
Joshua Varon's corner kick from the left side came short to the near post. Almeida sprinted out, turned his body and got hit the ball with his back heel for the score.
- The Toros outshot the Pioneers 27-13 in the game.
