CSUDH Nearly Equalizes in Final Moments, Falls 2-1 to Cougars

SAN MARCOS - The Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer team fell to Cal State San Marcos in a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchup by a final score of 2-1, Saturday at The Cage. Down by two goals, the Toros scored their first goal in the 89th minute and had a shot on goal in the final moments of the game. The Toros drop to 4-10-1 overall and 4-5 in the CCAA. The Cougars improve to 7-5-2, overall and 3-4-2 in conference play.

- The Toros fell behind 2-0 early. The Cougars scored their goals in the fourth and 12th minutes. CSUDH trailed 2-0 at halftime
- The Toros got their goal in the 89th minute on a penalty kick from D'Morea Alewine. Alewine hit a laser into the lower right corner.
- With less than 20 seconds remaining, George Almeida had a shot on goal on a free kick, but the attempt was turned away.
- CSUDH outshot the Cougars 3-1 in the second half.
- The contest was pretty physical as the two teams combined for 48 fouls and eight cards.
