Tritons' Bats Pound Toros in Late Innings to Even Four-Game Series

CARSON -- The Cal State Dominguez Hills baseball team kept pace with No. 12 UC San Diego but the Tritons lineup proved to be too much as they tallied 14 runs in the late innings to beat the Toros 20-4 in game two of the CCAA series Friday.

After both teams scored a run each in the first and second innings, the Toros took their only lead in the fourth inning. Adrian Guzman led off with a single, advanced on Evan Yeager's base hit and scored on back-to-back groundouts.

Nick Suniga threw five innings allowing the two runs in the early innings and added a strikeout. Five Toro relievers would be the victim of 18 runs.

Brandon Polizzi, Miguel Castaneda, Guzman and Yeager each had two of the Toros' dozen hits.

The series moves to La Jolla for a twinbill Saturday. First pitch is at 1 p.m.
